Diao Hongbin attends annual event of MOHRSS Teaching Steering Committee

The 2026 annual event of the Teaching Steering Committee for Health Care, Lifestyle Service Technical Education and Vocational Training under the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS) was held in Hangzhou from May 8 to 9.

Diao Hongbin, Member of the Teaching Steering Committee, Secretary-General of the Sub-Committee for Catering Service Professional Groups and Party Secretary of the college, attended the event and delivered an invited keynote speech.

All committee members, representatives from technical colleges and industry enterprises gathered at the event to review the work achievements of 2025, arrange key tasks for 2026, and conduct special exchanges on the training of skilled talents in the health care sector.

With the theme Opportunities and Challenges in the Development of Technical Education — College Construction and Integration of Industry and Education, Diao Hongbin delivered the keynote speech. Combining the new development situation of technical education, he comprehensively analyzed the opportunities and challenges faced by technical education in the new era.

He pointed out that the core task of technical education is to cultivate interdisciplinary talents who meet the development needs of the industry. It is essential to consolidate students’ professional skills while strengthening ideological and political guidance as well as digital literacy improvement.

He elaborated on the college's distinctive industry-education integration philosophy of Enterprises set topics, colleges and enterprises jointly work out solutions, and the market evaluates the outcomes. He stressed that the college should carry out project-based learning centering on real industrial projects, enhance students’ cross-border innovation and comprehensive practical capabilities, and realize in-depth integration of the education chain, talent chain, industrial chain and innovation chain. His speech won high recognition from all participants.

During the conference, participants explored approaches to cultivating high-skilled talents through special lectures, roundtable forums, seminars and field investigations.

Discussions were also held on deepening industry-education integration for health care majors, advancing the reform of work-integrated learning curriculum, and building a high-level teaching team.

Centering on the industrial needs of the health care and lifestyle service sector, the college will further deepen industry-education integration, strengthen practical teaching, and cultivate more high-quality skilled talents for the industry.
