On March 12, the college joined hands with the Li Cang District Fire and Rescue Brigade of Qingdao to hold a Fire Safety Promotion on Campus event.

Diao Hongbin, Secretary of the college Party Committee, attended the event and pointed out that fire safety concerns lives, the campus and society. It serves as the lifeline for the college’s development and an important prerequisite for fostering morality and cultivating talents.

As a distinctive institution specializing in hospitality management professionals, the college has always adhered to the policy of Prevention First, Combination of Prevention and Firefighting, and promoted the normalization and institutionalization of safety education.

He hoped that all teachers and students would cherish the learning opportunity, master fire safety knowledge, improve self-rescue and mutual-rescue capabilities, and strive to become practitioners and disseminators of fire safety.

Firefighters from the Li Cang District Fire and Rescue Brigade introduced the functions and features of fire and rescue vehicles, as well as the operation of various fire-fighting equipment on site. They demonstrated key operating procedures, and invited teachers and students to observe closely and experience in person, enabling them to directly master the use of fire equipment through practice and truly appreciate the professionalism of fire services.

Afterwards, a special lecture themed Full Participation in Fire Prevention was held in the academic lecture hall. Combining typical cases of campus fires, the lecture explained practical knowledge including fire prevention, initial fire extinguishing, and escape and self-rescue in a simple way. It guided teachers and students to establish the concept of Everyone Talks About Safety, Everything Focuses on Safety, Safety Is on Mind at All Times, and Safety Is Ensured Everywhere.

During the event, firefighters went deep into student apartment buildings, provided on-site guidance for the college’s mini fire station, carefully inspected the allocation of fire-fighting facilities, and offered professional training to the student volunteer fire brigade. They taught emergency response procedures and basic rescue skills hand-in-hand, helping to enhance the practical capabilities of the campus volunteer fire force.

The launch of this fire safety promotion campaign is not only a vivid safety education lesson, but also an in-depth practical drill.

Taking this event as an opportunity, the college will continue to deepen school-local cooperation, integrate fire safety education into daily work, build a strong campus safety line, and safeguard the lives and property of teachers and students.
