The 18th Shandong Vocational College Skills Competition – Higher Vocational Tourism Track concludes successfully

The 18th Shandong Vocational College Skills Competition – Higher Vocational Tourism Track was held successfully from December 17 to 20, attracting 53 representative teams from across the province to compete on the same stage.

The competition concluded with a grand closing ceremony on December 21.At the ceremony, President Han Xiqing emphasized that the event was not only a contest of professional skills, but also a bridge for inter-institutional exchanges and an opportunity for integrating industry with education.The college will take this competition as a new starting point, continuously strengthen communication and collaboration with peer institutions, jointly explore new paths and methods for the innovative development of tourism vocational education, and cultivate more high-quality technical and skilled talents for the vigorous development of modern service industry in Shandong Province.

In the competition review session, Professor Wang Jingqiang, Chief Judge, spoke highly of the pre-competition preparations and on-site organization. He commended the contestants for their rigorous and earnest attitude, excellent professional skills and sound vocational literacy, put forward targeted improvement suggestions, and provided important guidance for the cultivation of cultural tourism and hospitality talents in the future.

During the competition, each participating team independently determined the name and content of their entries, selected competition equipment, and integrated the latest industry technologies, standards and workflows into customer service scenarios.The contestants demonstrated high spirits and full dedication, showcasing their exquisite professional skills and positive mental outlook, which reflected the fruitful achievements of vocational education in integrating industry with education and science with education across vocational colleges in the province.

The entry designs featured distinct themes, closely aligned with the development needs of the tourism industry, and highlighted local cultural characteristics. With clear division of labor and role positioning, the contestants maintained effective communication and close collaboration. The integration of digital technologies into the entries demonstrated career-oriented and position-specific creativity and innovation, reflecting the contestants’ commendable innovative spirit and capabilities.

The three-day intense competition was brilliant and captivating. A total of 5 gold medals, 10 silver medals and 15 bronze medals were awarded.

The Shandong Vocational College Skills Competition serves as a vital link in advancing the construction of Shandong as a strong education province, and acts as a powerful engine for deepening the reform and improving the quality and efficiency of vocational education.
