The 18th Shandong Provincial Vocational College Skills Competition was held from December 15 to 16, with the Vocational College Track of the Finance and Economics Category taking center stage.
The team composed of students Qiu Jing, Tang Yuhao, Ma Yiran and Ma Xiaolei, under the guidance of teachers Liu Kai and Zhang Feng'e from the School of Accounting, won the silver award.
Co-hosted by multiple departments including the Shandong Provincial Department of Education, the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and the Shandong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, this year’s competition attracted 69 teams from vocational colleges across the province to compete head-to-head.
The competition was closely aligned with the current development trends of the finance and economics industry and the actual job requirements of enterprises. It comprehensively assessed the participants’ professional practical capabilities in data collection and processing, lean cost management, financial analysis and decision-making, as well as their comprehensive vocational qualities such as teamwork and on-the-spot adaptability.
During the competition, the contestants of the college stood out from the fierce competition by virtue of their solid professional knowledge, proficient operational skills and stable psychological quality, demonstrating the strong professional foundation and outstanding comprehensive abilities of our students.
In the preparation stage, the School of Accounting set up a coaching team with rich experience in competition guidance. The team conducted in-depth research on competition rules, refined technical details repeatedly, carried out multiple rounds of stress tests, and continuously optimized competition strategies.
This award-winning achievement is a remarkable result of our continuous efforts in advancing the education and teaching reform of finance and economics-related majors, as well as its focus on cultivating students’ practical and innovative capabilities.
The School of Accounting will continue to keep pace with the new requirements of the digital transformation of the finance and economics industry and the cultivation of interdisciplinary high-skilled talents.
We will further strengthen the training of students’ capabilities in integrating business with finance, digital technology with finance, and innovative practice. And we will also deepen industry-education integration and school-enterprise collaboration, striving to cultivate interdisciplinary and high-quality finance and economics talents who can meet the needs of regional development in the new era.
