The 18th Shandong Vocational College Skills Competition opens at the college

The 18th Shandong Vocational College Skills Competition – Higher Vocational Tourism Track officially opened at the college on December 17.

Co-hosted by the Shandong Provincial Department of Education, Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, etc., the event was organized by the college.

Diao Hongbin, Party Secretary of our college, delivered a welcome speech, extending warm greetings to all participating institutions. He emphasized that the Shandong Vocational College Skills Competition serves as a pivotal platform for advancing the construction of a province strong in education, showcasing the achievements of vocational education, and promoting the craftsmanship spirit.

Aligned with world competition standards and industry norms, this year’s Tourism Track Competition focuses on real-world scenarios and challenges in the tourism sector. It comprehensively assesses students’ practical capabilities, innovative thinking, and professional ethics, which will surely lay a solid talent foundation and inject new vitality into the high-quality development of the modern service industry.

As the host institution, Mr. Diao noted that the we attached great importance to the event and made meticulous preparations. Adhering to the organizing principles of “Splendor, Professionalism, Safety and Integrity”, we have spared no effort in event coordination and service support to foster a fair, impartial and open competition environment.

He also expressed the college’s eagerness to take this competition as an opportunity to strengthen exchanges and deepen cooperation with other vocational colleges, jointly promote the education and teaching reform of tourism-related majors, and contribute wisdom and efforts to building a modern vocational education system.

Professor Cao Junkai, Head of the Supervision and Arbitration Group, addressed the opening ceremony. He extended congratulations on the launch of the competition and expressed gratitude to our college for its thorough preparation work.

Professor Cao stressed that the Supervision and Arbitration Group will uphold the bottom line of justice, strictly follow the evaluation principles of “Impartiality and Objectivity, Quality First, Unified Standards, Transparency and Openness”, and perform its duties in accordance with regulations throughout the competition.

He called on all contestants to abide by the competition rules, demonstrate the fine demeanor of vocational college students in the new era, and work together to create a fair, competitive and harmonious event atmosphere.

Amidst warm applause, Chief Referee Wang Jingqiang announced the official start of the competition. The opening ceremony was attended by team leaders, contestants and instructors from 53 participating teams across Shandong Province.

Through a series of well-designed measures, the college has made thorough organizational arrangements and service guarantees, creating a rigorous yet welcoming competition environment. It has built an excellent platform for showcasing the achievements of vocational education and the elegant demeanor of skilled talents.

It aims to enhance the talent training quality of higher vocational colleges with tourism majors and empower the high-quality development of Shandong’s cultural and tourism industry through the mechanism of “Promoting Teaching, Learning and Reform through Competitions”.
