The Tourism Track (Tour Guide Service Event) of the World Vocational College Skills Competition 2024 Finals was held in Shanghai from October 25th to 27th, and the team of four students from our school, namely, Yi Mengzhen, Zhang Linger, Zhang Huiyuan, and Liu Xiaoyu, won the Silver Prize.
The competition was jointly organized by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and so on, with a total of 63 teams from 31 provinces participating in the competition.
Our team chose to take the guide service task of Taishan Calligraphy Exhibition as the main line, and designed four different tours, such as study tour, political investigation tour, journalist picking tour and foreign tour, etc.
Making full use of the new technology of intelligent tourism panoramic tour guide platform, we presented a comprehensive tour guide skills innovation and practice program by transforming the typical task of the guide service into skills chain, including creation and explanation of the tour guide's words, knowledge application, tour guide professional quality, cross-cultural communication and the application of new technology and talent.
This competition is of positive significance for promoting the teaching reform of tour guide service courses for tourism management majors and the cultivation of new cultural and tourism skilled talents.
