The 2025 HOTELEX China International Chinese Cuisine Championship was held in Chengdu, Sichuan from July 24th to 26th. We won one gold, one silver and one bronze medal.
A total of 316 contestants from 10 countries and regions participated in this competition. The competition set up two major categories (exhibition and on-site cooking) and nine sub-categories. It focused on the contestants' technical level, creative presentation and cultural integration, adhering to the concept of international standards with Chinese characteristics. The scoring was carried out with reference to the standardized scoring system of the World Association of Chefs' Societies, and gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded for each event.
During the preparation stage, we formed a participating team. Teachers and students involved in the competition actively prepared for the event during the vacation and achieved excellent results with their solid technical foundation and skilled professional skills.
Liu Xueyuan, a teacher from the School of Culinary Arts, won the gold medal in the Beef Chinese Main Course and the bronze medal in the Poultry Chinese Main Course. The team composed of students Huang Guowen, Wang Yuehan, Wang Yinjie and Li Changru from the School of Culinary Arts won the silver medal in the Chinese Banquet Menu Display project with their work Dai Qing Hai Lan Banquet.
This competition fully demonstrated the excellent demeanor and professional skills of the school's teachers and students, effectively enhancing the recognition of the college's catering-related professional construction and its international influence.
