Kick-off Meeting for the Compilation of National Occupational Standards for Front Office Attendants

On August 1st, the kick-off meeting for the compilation of the National Occupational Standards for Front Office Attendants was held at the college, hosted by the China Hotel Association and undertaken by the college.

Representatives from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, the China Hotel Association, tourist hotel enterprises, and colleges and universities attended the meeting.

Diao Hongbin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, introduced the school's running history and professional advantages in his speech. He stated that front office attendants are a compound position integrating comprehensive abilities such as intelligent terminal operation, cross-departmental collaboration, and emergency handling. The compilation of this occupational standard will guide the professional learning and career promotion of vocational college students and industry practitioners in terms of vocational grades, vocational skills, and vocational training, which is crucial for promoting the development of modern hotel industry and the high-quality development of vocational education.

Wang Xiaobing, a second-level inspector of the China Employment Training Technical Guidance Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, said that the compilation of standards must adhere to the principle of oriented by vocational activities and centered on vocational ability, which should not only reflect the overall level of current industry development but also take into account the actual differences between enterprises in different regions and of different scales.

In the new era where digitalization and intelligence are fully integrated, the scientific formulation of occupational standards for Front Office attendants is of great significance for promoting the standardized development of the industry and improving the quality of skilled talents training.

Liu Peitian, an expert in the compilation of national occupational standards, gave a thematic training on the topic of Methods and Requirements for Compiling National Occupational Standards.

This meeting brought together multiple forces from the government, associations, industries, and colleges. Based on the actual scenarios of the hotel industry and focusing on the development trend of the industry, experts discussed the new changes and new requirements in the formulation of national standards. They conducted in-depth discussions from multiple aspects and dimensions, including post technical empowerment, consumer experience, emergency response, the ability map of vocational college students, and the connection between knowledge map and vocational skills, which effectively promoted the formulation of the standards.

The School of Hospitality Management will take this opportunity to promote all-round integration of government, enterprises, and schools in aspects such as the connection between professional settings and industrial needs, the connection between teaching content and vocational standards, the connection between teaching practice and post requirements, and the connection between teaching assessment and vocational skill certificates, so as to jointly promote the scientific formulation and efficient output of this national occupational standard.
