On March 6, the college grandly held the 2026 Working Conference and 2025 Advanced Model Commendation Ceremony at the Academic Lecture Hall. The conference reviewed the achievements made in 2025, systematically arranged key tasks for 2026, commended advanced collectives and individuals under the theme of “Dedication to QVTCHM, Exemplary Hismile Spirit”, and mobilized the whole college to unify thinking, gather strength, and ensure a sound and steady start to the college’s 15th Five-Year Plan.
Diao Hongbin, Secretary of the Party Committee, attended and delivered a speech. He spoke highly of the remarkable achievements of the college in 2025 and clarified the key directions for the next stage focusing on key reform tasks for high-quality development.
Diao Hongbin pointed out that 2026 marks the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan and a critical year for the college’s long-term development. As the beginning shapes the overall situation and the initial step determines future momentum, the college must strive for high-quality development with full enthusiasm, practical measures, targeted goals and solid implementation.
Han Xiqing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President, arranged key work for this year. He noted that in 2026, the college will aim for high-level school-running capacity and high-quality integration of industry and education, focus on three major tasks:
the formulation of the 15th Five-Year Plan
the mid-term evaluation of provincial high-level colleges and high-level majors
the construction of the Oceantech Valley Campus
The college will carry out reforms on five key teaching elements:majors, curricula, textbooks, teachers, and practical training, and uphold a series of development bottom lines, so as to ensure a solid start for the 15th Five-Year Plan and new breakthroughs in high-quality development.
Han Xiqing deployed work for the new semester from six aspects, including “accelerating the construction of major projects to consolidate the foundation for high-quality development” and “deepening reforms of key teaching elements to enhance core capacity for high-quality development”.
Jiang Lingling, President and Chairperson of the Labor Union, announced the commendation decision for advanced models.
Gong Enlong, Vice President, conveyed the spirit of relevant meetings of the Group.
The conference commended advanced collectives and individuals emerging from the college’s reform and development in 2025. Members of the Party Committee leadership presented awards to the recipients.
Under the theme “Dedication to QVTCHM, Exemplary Hismile Spirit”, the commendation highlighted practical performance and innovatively set three categories:
Routine Assessment Awards, Special Contribution Awards, and Typical Achievements in High-Quality Development.
Through categorized evaluation and targeted incentives, the college established a clear value orientation for high-quality development.
During the commendation session, Diao Hongbin emphasized that the ceremony was not simply a selection of models or issuance of certificates, but a guidance of spirit, orientation of values and cohesion of strength. He called on all faculty and staff to learn from the advanced and follow the examples. He expressed hope that the whole college would take the commendation as a driving force to promote the college’s undertakings to a new level and strive for a new prospect of high-quality development.
Representatives of the commended departments and individuals — Yu Jinliang, Shi Meishan, Yang Dong and Wei Guangze — delivered speeches respectively. Based on their own posts, they shared their stories in department construction, teaching management, skills competitions and tackling key major tasks, vividly interpreting the spirit of the college.
This conference is not only a comprehensive summary and review of the 2025 work, but also an overall plan for the goals and tasks of the 15th Five-Year Plan period and the 2026 work arrangement. It has clarified the direction and issued a call for the development of all undertakings of the college.
