The college organizes Western Cuisine Event of the 17th Qingdao Vocational Skills Competition

The  Western Cuisine Event of the 17th Qingdao Vocational Skills Competition was held in the college on September 20, which was organized by Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security and hosted by Lichang District Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security.

With the theme of Craftsmanship Shapes Splendor and Builds Dreams for a New Era, this competition was the first time to benchmark the national and world-class competition system standards, focusing on the demand for new quality productivity, enhance the professional skill level of the participants and strengthen the competitiveness of the profession.

A total of more than 90 contestants from vocational and technical schools and colleges in Qingdao participated in the Western Cuisine Event. During the competition, the contestants were required to complete the design and production of two dishes by themselves in accordance with the rules of the competition, using Qingdao's regional characteristics of raw materials, from the perspectives of color matching, taste and texture, cooking skills, plating and styling, etc., which comprehensively assessed the contestants' basic skills, innovation and design ability, dish production ability, and kitchen management ability.

The judges scored according to the criteria of taste and texture, form and color, craftsmanship and quantity, creativity and practicality, nutrition and hygiene. Eventually, the qualified contestants will be recommended on the basis of their scores to represent Qingdao City to participate in the 2nd Shandong Vocational Skills Competition Cooking Competition.

The holding of this competition fully demonstrated the school's solid and orderly organization of the event, and set up a big stage for skilled personnel to practice their skills.
