QVTCHM received a letter of thanks from the community center of Xinghua Road, Li Cang District from which we know an amazing story about Wang Yufan’s saving a little girl with her wisdom and courage.
During the interview, Wang Yufan told her story happening at about 7:30 p.m. on August 29.
It was my 20th birthday that day, and some friends and family came to my home to celebrate it. After dinner, I went out for a walk with my brother and met a little girl, 11 years old, who seemed very depressed. When we tried talking with her, she became anxious and ran to 5th floor. She sat on the windowsill of the corridor and tried jumping from it.
My brother and I tried to persuade her not to do that. Gradually, Lots of people gathered downstairs, gossiped and watched her. At the moment, she became more agitated, did not want to go home and get any help. Because I’m also a girl, she allowed to stay around her and I began to distract her by talking some delicious food, funny things, dreams and bright future for about one hour.
During our conversation, my dad called the police secretly and asked them not siren when they came here. The policeman dressed in casual clothes and dismissed the crowd. When the little girl watched downstairs, I seized her arms firmly and pulled her off the windowsill. To comfort her, my brother and I also went to the police station. Finally, she told us her parents’ phone number and home address. Until 10:30 p.m. when her parents got to the police station, she has been outside about 4 hours without telling them.
I think I just did the right thing which is not worthy to be praised that much. I did feel nervous when the girl sat on the windowsill with some dangerous move, but everything got calmed when I held her. This is a unforgettable birthday to me.
Diao Hongbin, Vice of President of QVTCHM, thought highly of her good deeds and he emphasized what we teach students in college is not only professional knowledge but humanity. Every people should value their life and have the sense of gratitude and responsibility. The freshmen have just entered the college and should learn from Wang Yufan to be a smart and courageous people.
