Recently, the Launch Ceremony of Qingdao's Quality Minsu(Minsu refers to China’s distinctive type of homestay accommodation. Usually renovated from local residences, minsu features local cultural characteristics and personalized services, different from standard hotels.) Cluster Co-Building Initiative and the accompanying Industry Training Session were held. Co-hosted by the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the People's Government of Shinan District, and Meituan Minsu, the event brought together more than 80 Minsu enterprises from across the city and we were invited to attend as a supporting institution.
Under the theme Seaside Living, Urban Lodging—Building Our Future Together, the launch centered on the standardized regulation of urban Minsu, quality upgrading, and innovation in industrial models.
During the session, Professor Xu Li delivered a keynote report entitled The Road to Intensive, Standardized, and Quality-Driven New-Productive Development of Minsu. Grounded in Qingdao's cultural-tourism resources and the current state of its Minsu industry, the report offered an in-depth analysis of core topics including brand building, the construction of service-standard systems, innovation in intensive operation models, and the role of the college in empowering the industry. It provided practitioners with a professional sharing of both theoretical depth and practical value. Student volunteers majoring in Minsu Management and Operation also actively supported the conference services, demonstrating the college's achievements in practice-oriented education.
Long committed to talent cultivation and industrial research in the Minsu sector, our college upholds the industry-education integration philosophy of enterprises setting the questions, schools and enterprises co-solving them, and the market grading the answers. Going forward, the School of Hospitality Management will continue to deepen industry research, standards development, and skills training, lending professional expertise to the standardized and quality-driven growth of Qingdao's Minsu industry and contributing academic wisdom to the city's high-quality cultural-tourism development.
