The opening ceremony of the 4th Campus Food Culture Festival was held in the school gymnasium on October 28, coinciding with the college anniversary. Under the theme Safe Catering in Shandong, Smart Flavors for the Future, the festival runs from October 28 to November 15.
Guest speakers praised the college’s reform of cafeteria self-operation and smart canteen development, promising closer cooperation on food safety and service upgrading.
In his opening speech, Diao Hongbin stressed that campus dining serves as a practical education platform. He urged catering providers to stick strictly to food safety rules and called on teachers and students to develop healthy and thrifty eating habits.
Awards were presented to outstanding cafeteria staff, popular food stalls, student representatives of the Food Management Committee and other model individuals and teams.
Student art troupes and the School of Hotel Engineering put on wonderful performances. Leaders and guests cut the ceremonial cake to launch the festival.
Food tasting and lucky draws were held on site. Four catering companies distributed over 10,000 coupons worth 100,000 yuan to teachers and students.
The festival will feature food competitions, garden parties and discount promotions. The college will take this opportunity to carry out labor education and nutrition popularization, improve logistics services and boost teachers’ and students’ sense of well-being.
