The final of the 2026 Shandong Vocational Skills Competition for Study Tour Instructors under the Skill-Driven Shandong Campaign was held at our college from October 23 to 25.
Guided by Shandong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security and hosted by Shandong Premium Tourism Promotion Association, the competition was undertaken by our college.
A number of leaders and guests from relevant authorities and the tourism industry attended the event. Diao Hongbin, Secretary of the College Party Committee, delivered an address.
In his speech, Diao Hongbin noted that our college is among the first in China to launch the Study Tour Management and Service program. It led the formulation of national teaching standards for the higher vocational program and the profile for the vocational undergraduate program, and won the Shandong Provincial Cultural Innovation Award for its research project on the study tourism industrial system in Qingdao. The major enjoys a leading status nationwide.
Diao Hongbin expressed the hope that the competition can fully demonstrate the college’s educational achievements and contribute more to the training of study tour talents across the province.
President Han Xiqing stated that the college would deliver high-standard event organization and support services, strive to set a benchmark for competition operation, and fuel the high-quality development of Shandong’s study tourism industry.
A total of 330 contestants registered for the competition, and 140 advanced to the final after the preliminary round. Divided into the Employee Group and Student Group, the competition covered theoretical assessment, study tour curriculum design and practical skill demonstrations.
Our contestants won first prizes in both groups, and the college was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award. The event showcases our school’s academic strengths, expands its influence, and promotes the cultivation of study tour professionals in Shandong.
