On April 23, the library officially launched the 2026 Reading Month Series Activities themed Reading for the Future, Enlightening a New Journey with the 3rd Spring Book Fragrance Market as the prologue.
The traditional culture experience areas at the Spring Book Fragrance Market were brilliant and popular: activities such as lacquer fan making, Chinese herbal sachet assembly, metal movable type printing, Hanfu experience, pot throwing, and oracle bone script writing allowed teachers and students to fully appreciate the charm of excellent traditional Chinese culture through immersive interaction.
As an important part of this Reading Month, the Passing Love Through Books, Passing on the Torch book donation activity has been carried out in advance, receiving positive responses from teachers and students, retired faculty and staff, alumni and people from all walks of life. Up to now, a total of about 5,000 donated books have been received. After classification and sorting, these books carrying knowledge and warmth will enrich the collection, allowing idle books to continue their value in circulation and knowledge to increase in value through sharing.
Focusing on four dimensions—national reading, traditional culture, red classics, and artificial intelligence—this Reading Month will launch a series of activities such as the Youth Reading Forum and traditional Chinese style paper book lamp making in the follow-up, creating a strong atmosphere of loving reading, reading good books, and reading well, and guiding teachers and students to gain wisdom from reading and cultivate their moral character.
