The 3rd Cross-Lingual Chanting Assembly of Confucian Classics (Chanting the Chinese Classics Worldwide) came to an end in the studio of Shandong Radio and Television Station recently.
The Chinese-English bilingual works "The head of the Ji family was going to attack Zhuan Yu" by five teachers, including Sun Yuanyuan, Yu Youpeng, Zhu Jianhua, Wang Fei and Zhang Meng, stood out from more than 12,400 entries and won the Silver Prize in the adult group of the chanting category, as well as the honorary titles of "Confucian Classics Reciter" and "Popular Works on the Internet".
The Cross-Lingual Chanting Assembly of Confucian Classics is jointly organized by Nishan World Confucianism Center, China Confucius Foundation, Department of Education of Shandong province and Shandong People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
Since the launch of this Chanting Assembly in September 2023, the Department of Basic Teaching has been actively selecting contestants, screening works, and preparing for participation in the competition. The participating teachers have been working hard to promote the program efficiently. The National Studies Club actively cooperated and assisted in the competition.
In the future, we will continue to explore the innovative mode of integrating Chinese and English teaching with traditional culture, so as to improve the ability of teachers and students to tell Chinese stories across languages.
