On December 5, the Workshop on Work Exchange and Discussion of the Shandong Provincial Vocational Education Teaching Steering Committee (PVETSC) was held in Qingdao.
The event aimed to share experiences, analyze the current situation, clarify goals and tasks, further build consensus, pool efforts, and drive the province’s vocational education teaching guidance work to a new stage.
The Vocational Education Department of the Shandong Provincial Department of Education affirmed the achievements of the Provincial Industry Steering Committees (PISCs) in recent years, conducted an in-depth analysis of the new situation and tasks facing vocational education in the province, and required all PISCs to:
Take improving working mechanisms as the foundation to stimulate internal organizational motivation;
Take deepening industry-education integration as the core to enhance the quality and efficiency of university-enterprise collaboration;
Take promoting standard improvement as the guide to raise the quality of talent cultivation;
Take serving professional construction as the starting point to optimize the structure of educational supply;
Take serving the overall education cause as the fundamental to demonstrate a sense of responsibility.
Diao Hongbin, Director of the PVETSC Office, delivered a speech on behalf of the office. He stated that the office would strive to build an efficient coordination platform, professional support platform, and standardized service platform, enhance understanding and execution capabilities through strengthened policy and professional learning, improve internal workflows, boost coordination and guarantee capabilities, strengthen performance of duties, and effectively play the role of a bridge, creating favorable conditions for the efficient performance of the PVETSC’s duties.
During the event, experts and leaders from different fields successively shared experiences and suggestions. Secretaries of all PISCs conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on topics such as restructuring and election, mechanism construction, and work plans.
This event is a key measure to deepen industry guidance for vocational education and strengthen connotation construction.
Participants stated that they would take this opportunity to continuously optimize working mechanisms, improve the ability to perform duties, focus on key priorities, ensure implementation, jointly open up a new phase for the work of the Steering Committees, and contribute more to the high-quality development of vocational education in Shandong Province.
