The college signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Box Hill Institute in Melbourne, Australia on November 28.
The signing ceremony was attended by Diao Hongbin, Secretary of the college Party Committee; Grant Radford, Principal of Box Hill Institute; Paul Newnham, Deputy Principal; and John Qiu, Vice Principal (International).

During the subsequent seminar, Diao Hongbin introduced the college’s educational history, distinctive features, and core philosophy. He emphasized the institution’s commitment to open education, noting its efforts to learn advanced educational concepts and teaching models, enhance faculty internationalization, promote student study tours and academic progression, and explore opportunities for establishing a Sino-foreign cooperative education institution.
Grant Radford extended a warm welcome to the college delegation, sharing insights into Box Hill Institute’s history, academic strengths, program offerings, international exchange initiatives, and overseas operations. He highlighted the strong synergy between the two institutions, citing aligned educational philosophies and complementary program structures as key drivers of cooperation potential.

During the visit, Diao Hongbin and his team toured Box Hill Institute’s teaching and training centers, including culinary arts laboratories. They gained first-hand knowledge of laboratory safety management systems and the integrated theory-practice teaching model. This exchange strengthened mutual understanding, laid a solid foundation for collaboration, and advanced discussions on establishing a joint education institution.
As a significant outcome of educational exchange between Shandong Province and Australia, the MOU will facilitate cooperation in faculty training, student academic advancement, short-term study tours, and the development of joint education programs.
