In the B&B Manager Event of the 2025 Shandong Cultural and Tourism System Vocational Skills Competition, part of the Shandong Skills Promote Shandong Vocational Skills Competition, Liang Jingyi and Li Jiayi, students from the college’s B&B Management and Operation program, won the First Prize and Third Prize respectively.
Their instructor, Li Feng, was awarded the Excellent Instructor title, fully demonstrating the outstanding talent and strength of the school’s teachers and students.
The event consisted of preliminary and final stages, comprehensively assessing participants’ theoretical knowledge, practical application capabilities, and professional literacy through three modules: Theoretical Examination, B&B Activity Planning and Promotion, and Emergency Response Assessment.
The Theoretical Examination evaluated students’ mastery of professional knowledge such as B&B operation and management, service etiquette, local culture, and safety norms. The B&B Activity Planning and Promotion module required participants to independently develop an innovative and feasible homestay marketing and promotion plan based on specific themes and resource conditions, focusing on testing market insight, creative planning capabilities, and project operation thinking. The Emergency Response Assessment simulated various potential emergencies in B&B operations, such as guest medical emergencies, equipment failures, and complaint disputes, aiming to evaluate participants’ adaptability, communication skills, and service awareness.
During the preparation period, the School of Hospitality Management formed an experienced instructor team that thoroughly studied the competition rules and technical standards, and developed a systematic and scientific training plan for the participating students.
The instructor team not only systematically organized and intensified tutoring on theoretical knowledge but also conducted multiple rounds of mock drills and plan optimizations for the core Activity Planning and Promotion module. They refined every detail from market analysis and creative conception to implementation, striving for perfection. In emergency response training, various complex scenario cases were carefully designed, and role-playing and stress tests were used to effectively improve students’ psychological resilience and on-site problem-solving abilities.
This achievement is a concentrated reflection of the School of Hospitality Management’s focus on the new formats of the modern accommodation industry and the fruitful results of deepening education and teaching reforms.
