The college convened the 2025 WorldSkills Competition for Vocational Colleges Summary & New Round Mobilization Meeting in the Academic Lecture Hall on October 9th.

He acknowledged the college’s excellent achievements in vocational college skills competitions over the years and highly praised the teacher-student teams and relevant departments that won awards in this year’s WorldSkills Competition for Vocational Colleges.

He emphasized the need to carry forward the good experience of inter-departmental collaboration, division of labor, and mutual promotion. Further efforts should be made to improve work mechanisms such as the joint cultivation and sharing of guiding experts and participating teams for various competitions (including vocational skills competitions, career planning competitions, etc.), as well as the complementary integration of competition resources and disciplinary advantages. These measures are intended to promote the efficient and collaborative output of high-level competition results.

He put forward ten suggestions for the subsequent competition preparation work:

  • Foster a project-oriented mindset;

  • Cultivate cross-boundary thinking;

  • Demonstrate high-level skills;

  • Strengthen empowerment through artificial intelligence;

  • Focus on project innovation;

  • Enhance joint answering by schools and enterprises      during the implementation process;

  • Highlight high value;

  • Integrate ideological and political elements.

He required relevant departments to attach great importance to and continuously improve the competition support system and basic support for teachers and students. While maintaining traditional advantages, efforts should be made to expand new competition tracks, enrich gold medal-winning points, and fully prepare for this year’s provincial-level competitions.

During the event, four students from the School of Hospitality Management – Shan Quan, Yang Qingjie, Ma Qianhui, and Shao Xiaoyuan – demonstrated their gold medal work in the tourism track, titled Smart Enjoyment of Wine Charms, Revitalizing Fine Wines

Yu Jinliang, Director of the Academic Affairs Office, delivered a report on competition summary and planning. He conducted a review analysis and planning deployment of the competitions from three aspects: data analysis and achievement summary of the competitions, analysis of experience and challenges in preparation work, and planning and arrangement of key tasks for the follow-up.

This meeting systematically reviewed the competition achievements and valuable experience, built consensus, and pooled efforts. It clarified the direction for various schools and departments in their subsequent skills competition work. Relevant teachers and students will participate in the work more scientifically and effectively, promoting the college to achieve better results in the new round of competitions and advancing the connotative development of the college’s education and teaching reform.
