Comprehensive Upgrade of the New Concepts in Hospitality Course Completed

To keep pace with the rapid development trend of the hospitality industry and enhance new students' understanding of and identification with cutting-edge professional knowledge, the School of Hospitality Management has recently successfully completed a comprehensive upgrade of its featured course New Concepts in Hospitality.

The upgraded course has optimized the original six modules—including hospitality formats, hospitality brands, hospitality aesthetics, hospitality workplace, hospitality services, and hospitality technology—into five new modules, namely

  • Reimagining Hospitality: Value Enhancement and Digital Transformation of the Modern Hospitality Industry,

  • Intelligent Core: Core Systems and Tools for Digital Hotel Operations,

  • Traffic Code: Shaping Hospitality Aesthetics and Delivering Emotional Value,

  • Passing the Torch: Insights from Outstanding Alumni of the School of Hospitality Management,

  • The Future is Here: Career Paths and Development Prospects for Hospitality Professionals.

This enables students to gain a macro-level understanding of the Hospitality Management and Digital Operations program from perspectives such as industry development, technological empowerment, Chinese-style services, aesthetic value, and career prospects. It guides students to form a correct understanding of the program, stimulates their interest in the program and the industry, and strengthens their professional identity.

This course upgrade not only answers the question of what the hospitality industry is, but also vividly demonstrates what changes are taking place in the hospitality industry and what kind of talents are needed in the future.

By integrating cutting-edge, fashionable, and technology-driven content, the course has effectively aroused the interest of Generation Z new students in the program, helping them plan their career development with a broader vision and more forward-looking thinking.

With 20 years of development, the New Concepts in Hospitality course is not only a professional orientation training but also a fundamental course for popularizing introductory professional knowledge. As a key part of the orientation education for new students, it highlights the characteristics of talent cultivation in the hospitality management program.
