From August 24 to 31, the 2025 World Vocational College Skills Competition Finals for the Art Design Track (Higher Vocational Group) was held in Guizhou.

The team from the college, composed of Li Bingbing, Guo Xilei, Zhang Jiaqi, and Men Fanfei from the Cultural and Creative Planning major, won the gold medal and advanced to the finals ranking match with the first place in the country, achieving a historic breakthrough for the college.

With the theme Skills Illuminate Youth, Abilities Create Future, the Art Design Track covers multiple fields such as visual communication, product design, and digital media. The competition attracted over 1,200 teachers and students from 200 teams representing 180 colleges and universities across China, focusing on assessing contestants' technical proficiency, professional literacy, application value, teamwork, as well as innovation and creativity.

The college's entry, Millennium Ancient Bird-and-Insect Script - Digital Cultural and Creative Empowering Innovation of Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage, took the real scenario of a commissioned cultural and creative product design for the Bird-and-Insect Zhuan Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum. Innovatively selecting Niaochong Zhuan (bird-and-insect seal script), a millennium-old form of Chinese calligraphy, as its breakthrough point, the project addressed three key challenges: the difficulty in expressing intangible cultural heritage, the low integration of such heritage with the youth market, and the low degree of digitalization in intangible cultural heritage-themed cultural and creative products. Through cultural decoding, visual implementation, experience innovation, and digital communication, it fully demonstrated the development process of digital cultural and creative projects and established a new paradigm for digital cultural creativity empowering the innovation of Chinese intangible cultural heritage.

The project successfully developed an original trendy IP Lucky Bird. In particular, leveraging cutting-edge industrial digital interaction technologies, it created real-time interactive immersive installations, maze digital games, digital twin exhibition halls, digital collections with blockchain certification, and AR interactions on packaging boxes, forming an immersive and intelligent digital experience matrix that enriched the museum's experience scenarios.

Adhering to the concept of industry-education integration of enterprises set questions, schools and enterprises jointly answer them, and the market evaluates the results, the project showcased students' high-end digital skills, the effectiveness of school-enterprise cooperation in the major, and the achievements of the school's teaching reform, winning wide acclaim from judges and peer institutions.

Secretary Diao Hongbin and President Jiang Yupeng welcomed he triumphant return of the participating teachers and students.

The School of Culture and Tourism will take this competition as an opportunity to adapt to the new trends, requirements, and changes in the integration of culture and tourism. It will focus on the in-depth integration of tourism-related majors and cultural majors, with an emphasis on the deep integration of digital technology into the cultivation of cultural and tourism talents, promoting interdisciplinary, multi-skill, and multi-scenario integrated development. The goal is to cultivate high-skilled new cultural and tourism talents with a Chinese soul, a digital core, strong communication skills, and a spirit of innovation for industries and enterprises, contributing to the high-quality development of the cultural and tourism industry.
