Recently, we invited Prof. Jean-Michel Mackay, Michelin-starred master of L'École Hô´telière du Périgord of France, to give lectures in Sino-French culinary classrooms, and to hold a display on the results of the teaching.
At the opening ceremony of Sino-French Culinary Arts Classroom, Han Xiqing, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, introduced the basic situation of the college's catering professional construction and reviewed the history and results of cooperation with L'École Hô´telière du Périgord,France.
He said that the cooperation is fruitful in the exchange of skills between teachers and students, professional curriculum development, vocational education development etc., and hoped that this exchange activity can further deepen the interconnection, strengthen the skills training and professional co-construction, and jointly create a new mode of cooperation in the western cuisine.
Based on the cooperation framework agreement between the two colleges, this activity aims to improve students' skills in cooking French desserts and savory snacks by combining and using local ingredients, as well as to strengthen their ability to present and communicate in an English-speaking environment.
During the event, students of the Western Culinary Arts Program learned the basic techniques of French desserts, savory and hot dishes, created a demonstration of the specific procedures of the French hors d'oeuvres dinner buffet, and introduced the dishes in English.
Focusing on the activities of the practical training results, “French food teaching results report and display”was held in the staff dining room and won unanimous praise.
The school will further deepen the cooperation with L'École Hô´telière du Périgord,France, deepen the two-way interaction and exchange of teachers, and strive to enhance the international influence and sustainable development of the catering discipline group.
