Our teachers and students won the first prize in the events of “Product Art Design” and “Wine Service” and the second prize in “Oral English” event in the 17th Shandong Vocational College Skills Competition.
In the “Product Art Design” event, Yin Fangzheng and Li Bingbing majoring in cultural creativity and planning won the first prize.
The event is divided into two modules: creative design and digital application. During the competition, the two contestants made full use of the knowledge of cultural and creative product design and digital application of products, showing high practical ability.
The team of Shao Xiaoyuan and Zhang Haoran won the first prize in the “Wine Service” event.
The event focuses on assessing the comprehensive quality and ability of students in wine service and cocktail service, and is divided into three modules: wine tasting and service, cocktail making and service, and comprehensive ability assessment. Cocktail making and serving requires students to make and serve a self-created cocktail according to a list of ingredients; the comprehensive ability assessment includes a test of wine theory knowledge and marketing campaign program design. The assessment content is entirely from the real work content of sommeliers, bartenders and other positions, with many content modules and great difficulty in the competition.
The team composed of Zhu Jianhua, a teacher from the Department of Basic Teaching, and Wang Leying, a financial management student from the class of 2023, won the second prize in the “Oral English” event.
69 teams from higher vocational colleges and universities across the province participated in the competition, which includes four parts: “China Story”, “Scenario Communication”, “Workplace Description” and “Workplace Debate”. The competition focuses on testing the participants' ability to tell China's stories and spread China's voice in English, as well as their ability to deal with typical tasks in the workplace and communicate with foreigners in English, and their ability to analyze social hot topics and industrial phenomena and handle data and graphical information. Ms. Zhu and Ms. Wang demonstrated their comprehensive language skills in English listening and speaking.
The college will continue to promote the transformation of the results of the competition and the close integration of industry, academia and research, broaden the channels of talent cultivation, continuously improve the quality of education and teaching, enhance the level of English and vocational skills of the students, and strive to cultivate more talents with an international outlook, innovative spirit and practical ability.
