The “Hotel Service” event of 17th Shandong Vocational College Skills Competition starts in the college

The 17th Shandong Vocational College Skills Competition jointly sponsored by the Shandong Provincial Department of Education and other four departments of the higher vocational group ‘hotel service’ race in the school, from the province's 34 teams of team leaders, contestants and instructors to participate in the opening ceremony.

The Competition is Jointly sponsored by the Department of Education of Shandong province and other three departments.

President Jiang Yupeng made a welcome speech hoping that the competition will strengthen exchanges and co-operation with sister colleges, promote the education and teaching reform of the higher vocational tourism major and contribute to the promotion of the construction of modern vocational education.

Vice President Tian Xiaojing of Jinan Tourism School, supervisor and arbitrator of the Competition, put forward specific requirements for the host school, referees and participating teams from the perspective of supervision and arbitration.

Zhou Li, head of the competition expert group and vice president of Jiangsu Tourism Vocational College, said that the expert group interpreted the competition regulations in detail through the pre-competition briefing and answered the questions raised by the participating colleges carefully.

The competition is aimed at strengthening innovation, improving students‘ comprehensive ability, benchmarking with the World Championship and industry standards, enhancing students’ professionalism, promoting the spirit of craftsmanship and strengthening the sense of belonging to the industry.

The competition consists of three modules: reception, Chinese food service and western food service. Through the competition, it tests the professional ability of higher vocational tourism majors in hotel service work, such as standard operation, innovative design, customer service, social communication, organisational management, product marketing and other professional abilities, and the comprehensive quality of careful and thoughtful, active and enthusiastic.

As the host institution of the competition, the school built a good platform and offered support service, creating a strict and warm environment.
