The annual confence of Industry–Education Integration Community of National Modern Accommodation Industry and the Council of Shandong Hotel Industry Vocational Education Group led by the school was held in Qingdao on December 16, with 126 guests from 66 colleges and enterprises attending the confence.
Li Da, secretary of the Party Committee of the college, said in his speech that the Community (Vocational Education Group) operates effectively, and its role as a bridge is becoming more and more prominent, which effectively promotes the docking of the education chain with the industrial chain and promotes the high-quality development of the hotel industry. The Community will continue to explore the integration of industry and education, school-enterprise cooperation, and realise the win-win situtation.
Qiu Yi, Recruitment Director of Huazhou Group, said that with the rapid development of the lodging industry, composite high-quality talents have become the future direction of the industry. In the future, we will use the Community as a platform to discuss the industry development trend with colleagues from the industry and colleges, and cultivate more professional talents in the hotel industry with colleges.
Wen Ji, Executive Dean of Shenzhen Tourism College of Jinan University, said that institutions should take the platform to give full play to the advantages of academic disciplines, and continue to promote education and teaching reforms to provide a high-level of technical and human resources support.
Zhang Zongguo, vice president of the college, reported on the work of the Community in 2024 and read out the work plan for 2025. He said that the Community (Vocational Education Group) has realised the common sharing within the group in 2024, served the industry and economic development, and brought into full play the strengths of the Community and the Vocational Education Group. In 2025, the Community will focus on the deepening of the integration of the resources of industry and education and other core areas of work, so as to inject a strong impetus into the transformation, upgrading and sustainable development of the hospitality industry.
Qiu Yi, Recruitment Director of Huazhou Group, shared a report on the development and demand forecast of talents in the national lodging industry. She said that the talent market has also seen new changes and characteristics, namely, the age of talents tends to be younger, composite cross-border talents are in demand, digital operation ability is valued, and the stability of talents is particularly important, etc. She also put forward the integration of industry and education to jointly build the industry's youth sustainable cycle of talent supply chain model.
At the meeting, the Community (Vocational Education Group) newly absorbed 8 units as vice-chairmen and 6 units as directors. 28 Community (Vocational Education Group) member units were awarded the 2024 Excellence Contribution Award, and the enterprise representatives of 10 institutes were awarded the Special Contribution Award. 10 enterprise representatives and 30 representatives of colleges were appointed as enterprise mentors and enterprise researchers respectively.
At the National Seminar on the Construction of Vocational Education Hardware for Modern Accommodation Industry, the participating experts discussed the development trend and outlook of China's tourism vocational education, AI & Technology in Hospitality, and the practice and exploration of the construction of ‘Golden Teaching Material’ in the context of digitalisation.

Two round tables were held to discuss the construction of tourism and hospitality vocational education and the new trend of the development of the lodging industry under the integration of industry and education.
