The college holds the evaluation meeting of teaching guidance program for Shandong secondary vocational education of tourism

The evaluation meeting of teaching guidance program for Shandong secondary vocational education of tourism was held in our college on September 11-12.

President Jiang Yupeng said in his speech that the professional teaching guidance program is a guiding document to deepen the professional curriculum and teaching reform of vocational education, which is conducive to standardizing and promoting the teaching of vocational education, strengthening the articulation of secondary and higher vocational education, and doing vocational education with quality and standards.

Since being approved to take the lead in developing the teaching guidance program for three  majors of secondary vocational education, namely, tour guide service, recreation and leisure tourism service, and operation and management of high-star hotels. The school has joined hands with the member units of the development working group to actively buttress the needs of the regional industry during the program development process, embody the concepts of high-end, intelligent, and low-carbon, and highlight the cultivation of digital skills to serve the local economic and social development.

At the evaluation meeting, Yang Dong and Liu Xiao, teachers of the School of Tourism and Culture, and Wang Guangjian, vice president of the School of Hotel Management, reported on the development of the teaching guidance program of the three majors.

The evaluation experts carried out rigorous and detailed arguments and exchanges on the teaching plan, curriculum standard, teacher staffing, talent training mode and curriculum system reform, and research report in the professional guidance program.

Wang Kunxin, head of the supervisory team, chief researcher of the World Tourism Alliance, made an overall evaluation of the teaching guidance program in light of the experts' argumentation, saying that the teaching guidance program has solid research, specific content, reasonable and standardized program development, which better reflects the national standards, technical specifications and the employment needs of the industry and enterprises, and embodies the new trend of the industry's development and the new requirements on the demand for talents.

The next step is that the college will improve the program according to the evaluation committee's suggestions.
