Waterford English Corner, jointly organized by the Department of Basic Education and the International Office, was officially launched on the afternoon of March 18.
At the launching ceremony, Mr. Shi Zengye, director of the Department of Basic Education, introduced the purpose of the English corner activity, and encouraged students to make full use of the platform of English corner, enhance English learning motivation and confidence, and constantly improve their English.
The first phase of Waterford English Corner was held. English teachers and students had a positive interaction with the theme of Tree-planting Day.
A series of activities Waterford English Corner will focus on the theme of cultivating family and country feelings and promoting patriotism, covering Chinese traditional culture, traditional festivals, current political hot spots, etc., aiming to stimulate students' enthusiasm in learning English and improve their oral English through the integration of ideological and political education and English learning. The event is planned to be held in 13 phases, and the admission ticket adopts the form of questionnaire, which increases the challenge, knowledge and interest.
