Our delegation visits Institut de Tourisme & et d'Hotellerie Québec Canada

Vice president Wang Jianbao and four teachers visited Institut de Tourisme & et d'Hotellerie Québec (ITHQ), Canada from December 3 to 6. During the visit, the delegation conducted Chinese cooking skills and Shandong intangible cultural heritage skills Exhibition for Canadian teachers and students. The two sides set up Shandong Intangible Cultural Heritage Communication Center and China Overseas Traditional Culture Training Center of QVTCHM, and formally signed a memorandum of cooperation.

During the visit, Ms. Liza frulla, President of ITHQ, and Richard Laroche, vice president, met with the delegation. Both sides affirmed the common ground and the feasibility of cooperation between the two schools, and carried out specific discussions about joint training of teachers and students, short-term training courses in Chinese cuisine, etc.

Mr. Wang Jianming, Dean of the Dept. of Culinary Arts, demonstrated how to use “Dough Mould”and make “Bobo”of different shapes. Ms. Wang Shanshan, Mr. Li Jun and Mr. Jiang Yuntao, professional teachers of the Dept. of Culinary Arts, demonstrated the production of Chinese pastry and made a feast integrating Chinese and Western styles.

Under the witness of Mr. Zhang Heng, Vice Consul General of China in Montreal, Wang Jianbao and Lisa frulla signed a memorandum of cooperation on behalf of the two sides. The two sides fully affirmed the achievements of the visit and said that they would cooperate in the field of catering training for a long time and incorporate international and cross-cultural communication skills into their courses. Zhang Heng highly affirmed the cooperation between the two colleges and said that the Chinese Consulate General in Montreal would help us as much as possible in the future cooperation.

During the visit, the delegation, accompanied by the Canadian side, visited ITHQ, including a four-star teaching hotel, two teaching training restaurants, hotel consulting center, culinary classroom, food chemistry and sensory research laboratory, wine tasting laboratory, etc. The professional teaching facilities and deep industrial integration deeply impressed the delegation.

This visit has laid a solid foundation for the in-depth cooperation between ITHQ and us. We will adhere to the principle of mutual learning and win-win cooperation, and actively promote the internationalization process of both sides.
