We achieve a historical breakthrough in the final of the 2019 Teaching Competition of Shandong Vocational Colleges

The final of the 2019 Shandong Vocational College Teaching Competition ended in Jinan Vocational College on August 30. We achieved a historical breakthrough in this competition, and won two first prizes and two second prizes. Among them, the works of Man Zhonghui, Pu Chunfang, Zhang Meifeng and Su Wei won the first prize in the public basic course group. The works of Huang Yuan,Yang Xiaotong Gao Lin and Liu Yu won the first prize in the professional courses. The works of Liu Feifei, Mao An and Yu Jinru, Liu Kai and Kang Yin won the second prize in the professional courses. The quantity and quality of the awards are among the top five in the higher vocational colleges of the province.

The competition is sponsored by the Shandong Provincial Education Department, also sponsored by the Shandong Academy of Educational Sciences and co-sponsored by Jinan Vocational College. The competition targets vocational schools and colleges and consists of three groups: public basic course group, professional course group 1 and professional course group 2. A total of 570 works were received from 116  vocational schools and 75 Higher Vocational Colleges, and 2093 teachers were registered for the competition. Among them, a total of 340 entries were registered by the vocational college group, and 90 entries were selected to participate in the on-site finals according to the preliminary evaluation results of the network, and 31 prizes were awarded as first prizes.

There are great changes in the settings, forms and links of the Competition. On-site finals need to prepare 16 (or 12) hours of continuous and complete teaching content. Experts select randomly one part and contestants should complete 5-minute instructional design explanation, 10-minute on-site simulation teaching and 10-minute on-site defense. It puts forward new requirements for teachers to realize the reform of teaching and the application of information technology in curriculum.

In order to prepare for the competition, we attach great importance to setting up the leading group and training office, formulating training programs, actively organizing selection competitions, inviting experts to give one-to-one guidance, and assisting the team in perfecting works and holding simulation exercises. In the end, 4 of the five works recommended by our college entered the finals on the spot, and the proportion of the finalists reached 80%. Teachers participating in the on-site finals constantly improve their works, carefully prepare for each stage of the competition, and eventually play a stable role and achieve excellent results.

The Competition of Teaching Ability plays an important role in promoting teachers' comprehensive quality, improving teachers' professional level and innovative ability. The Teacher Development Center will conscientiously sum up the contest experience, find out the shortcomings, constantly improve the quality and level of the contest, guide teachers to devote themselves to teaching research, deepen the reform of teaching to make more achievements .
