Ren Yujie is awarded the first prize at the 6th Shandong College Teachers' Teaching Competition.
On May 26, the list of winners of the sixth “Super Star Cup” Teachers' Teaching Competition in Shandong Province was unveiled. We achieved a breakthrough in this competition which was sponsored jointly by the Provincial Education Department and the Provincial Education Trade Union. Ren Yujie and Li Jun of the Dept. of Culinary Arts won the first and third prize respectively, and Niu Junjie of Dept. of the Business Administration won the second prize, and Ji Yanfeng of the Dept. of Basic Teaching won the Excellence Award.
The Competition is aimed at all the teachers of colleges and universities in Shandong Province. It is divided into four stages: school-level competition, provincial preliminary competition, provincial second-round competition and provincial final competition. Among the provincial competitions, this is the most influential, longest and strictest one. This competition is divided into four groups: engineering, liberal arts, science and ideological and political. 676 teachers participated in the preliminary contest, 324 teachers participated in the second contest and 170 teachers entered the final contest. Among them, 79 were in liberal arts group, and only 19 were from vocational colleges. The award of this competition is a recognition of the basic teaching skills and classroom teaching ability for the awarded teachers. It is also a great encouragement for young teachers to return to teaching and devote themselves to teaching practice.
Our college attaches great importance to the event and actively conducts the selection, guidance and promotion of contestants. Since October 2018, the Teacher Development Center of the Academic Affairs Department has actively motivated the departments to organize the recommendation of contestants, carry out on-campus selection contests, determine the recommended contestants. It also invited experts from inside and outside the school and previous award-winning contestants to provide targeted training guidance. Leadership groups and training office were set up to formulate training programs and carefully prepare for the finals. Several teachers, especially the two finalists, devoted a great deal of energy and time to preparation, and finally achieved excellent results.
The Teacher Development Center of the Academic Affairs Department will continue to uphold the spirit of teaching competition and promote teaching, learning and promotion by competition. It will focus on the needs of professional teachers, and continue to carry out effective work in teacher training, new teacher training, teaching competition and teaching reform.
Contestants and teachers participate in the final competition.
