The college signs a contract with Acapulco International Cooking Research Center, Mexico

The college held a signing ceremony and traditional cooking skills exchange and demonstration with Acapulco International Cooking Research Center, Mexico on June 7.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mexico, on the basis of the sister cities of Qingdao and Acapulco, the school and Acapulco International Cooking Research Center will take culinary culture as the medium and fish and shrimp as the carrier to show the inheritance and innovation of cooking. 

Li Da thanked the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office for setting up a cooperation and exchange platform for the school. He hopes that the two sides will continue to enhance understanding and friendship through culinary skills and food culture exchanges, and further promote extensive exchanges and cooperation between sister cities.

President Jiang Yupeng signed a memorandum of cooperation with Acapulco International Cooking Research Center on behalf of the college.

After the signing ceremony, the college and Acapulco International Cooking Research Center respectively exhibited Chinese and Mexican traditional culinary skills with fish and shrimp as ingredients. Coral Fish in Tomato Sauce and Lily Shrimp Balls that are produced by Ding Delong integrated Eastern and Western cooking techniques and demonstrated solid Shandong cooking skills, which were highly praised by the guests. 

With cultural exchanges as the link and food as the carrier, the two sides demonstrated the friendship of beauty and common development, and jointly celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mexico and a new starting point for cooperation with sister cities.

Jesús Seade Kuri, Mexican ambassador to China, said that both Mexico and China are countries with ancient civilizations of thousands of years, and the two countries have forged profound friendship through hundreds of years of exchanges. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Qingdao and Acapulco have creatively developed food exchange carriers, deepening the understanding and friendship between the two peoples. The Mexican Embassy in China will continue to actively support the cooperation between friendly cities of the two sides.

Jiwei, deputy director of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said that Qingdao and Acapulco have creatively carried out exchanges with our college, taking food as the carrier, reflecting the friendship between the people and enhancing cooperation between the two sides. The Association is willing to further promote friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between local governments and sister cities of the two countries.

Abelina Lopez, the mayor of Acapulco, said that as the first pair of sister cities between China and Mexico, Acapulco and Qingdao have a long history of traditional friendship. She hoped that this event would be an opportunity to promote more cooperation achievements between the two cities and benefit the people of the two cities.

The signing of this cooperation memorandum is the third sister city cooperation project of our college. We will carry out practical cooperation in teacher-student exchanges, cultural research, educational research and so on under the framework of the memorandum of cooperation, and further help the construction of the Double High-level Program of the college.
