Keeping up with industrial demand and improving students' "growth ability"

The third edition of Shandong Education Daily, entitled  Keeping up with Industrial Demand and Improving Students' Growth Ability, reported the experience and practice of the college to enhance the adaptability of vocational education, explore new mechanisms of multi-dimensional education and cultivate students' adaptability and growth on March 21.

The college actively adapts to the national development strategy and the transformation needs of regional new and old kinetic energy. According to the idea of digital transformation of industrial chain, we connect the digital economy, scientific and technological progress and market demand, realize professional upgrading and digital transformation, build smart rooms and other hotel industry training scenes, develop digital and information-based courses.

At the same time, we establish close school enterprise cooperation with more than 300 enterprises at home and abroad, and jointly formulate talent training standards, Jointly carry out education and teaching.

The integration of competition and class enables students to learn real skills

In order to encourage students to participate more in professional skill competitions, a graded skill competition mechanism has been established, and students' participation in skill competitions has been included in the compulsory credits of the second classroom, so as to guide students to advocate skills and cultivate craftsmanship spirit.

 Since 2012, the college has won 24 first prizes in four national competitions, including cooking, Chinese and English tour guides, Chinese banquet design and Western banquet design, and won the national first prize in cooking and Chinese banquet design.

Teacher development lays the foundation for students' growth

The school has formulated the management measures for temporary training of full-time teachers, which adopts the combination of off-duty and on-the-job flexible temporary training. In principle, full-time teachers must participate in temporary training. 

In order to broaden the practice platform for students and teachers, we have strengthened the efforts to attract enterprises to the school, jointly set up the Intercontinental Talent Training Institute with InterContinental Hotel Group, the Campus Home Inn with Home Inn Group, and the Inzone Culture and Tourism Institute with Inzone Tourism Group.

Teachers participate in the operation of real projects and act as the person in charge of operation to improve the quality of Double-qualification Teachers. In recent years, the proportion of  Double-qualification  teachers in the college has reached 90%.
