Recently, the 48th WorldSkills Competition was held in Shanghai. As a major platform gathering global skilled talents, the event showcases vocational education worldwide, facilitates alignment with international skill standards and promotes traditional craftsmanship. The college actively participated in event technical support.

Diao Hongbin, Secretary of the college Party Committee, visited the competition venue to oversee skill demonstrations. He conducted on-site research in the Restaurant Service contest, extended regards to our technical experts, and held friendly exchanges with Ray Cullen, Contest Chief Judge, Andrew Langford, Assistant Chief Judge, as well as technical and venue managers to advance our international education.

Our senior specialists provided full-cycle technical support for the Restaurant Service event and won recognition for their professionalism. The college led the Restaurant Service zone in the WorldSkills Experience Station. Teachers and students demonstrated Chinese craftsmanship including napkin folding and tea table arrangement, drawing numerous global visitors. The team was interviewed by China News Service, Labour Daily and other media outlets, presenting our educational achievements and charm of traditional Chinese culture.

Building on this experience, the college will benchmark international skill standards, deepen teaching reform and international cooperation to upgrade hospitality programmes. This participation embodies our philosophy of “promoting teaching, reform and integration via competitions” and broadens our global vision. Going forward, we will stay committed to skill-oriented education, improve education quality and advance high-quality, international development of vocational education.
