The higher vocational group competition of the Art Design Track of the World Vocational College Skills Competition Finals was held in Guizhou from September 16 to 22.
A team consisting of Han Le, Cui Yunjing, Bi Mengtian and Liu Mengtian, students majoring in Cultural Creativity and Planning at our college, competed calmly and delivered outstanding performance, winning the silver medal of the higher vocational group in this track. The award demonstrates the educational strength and school-running quality of our college’s cultural and art majors.

With the theme of Skills Ignite Youth, Innovation Shapes the Future, the competition’s Art Design Track covers visual communication, digital media, environmental art, cultural and creative product design and other fields. A total of 204 teams and more than 1,000 teachers and students from across the country competed on the same stage.
Centered on fine traditional Chinese culture, our entry addresses pain points in China-chic IP development including stereotyped images, insufficient emotional resonance and low digital application. Based on real project demands from school-enterprise partners, the team completed the whole development process of a digital cultural and creative project, including creative planning, image modeling and interactive display through cultural decoding, image construction, digital extension and immersive experience. It has formed a replicable solution for intelligent digital development of China-chic IP, enabling traditional culture to shift from being read to being experienced.
During preparation, college leaders paid close attention to the competition. Secretary Diao Hongbin and President Han Xiqing inspected training regularly. Relevant departments provided technical support and organized mock tests. The School of Culture and Tourism’s teachers accompanied and polished the team’s work.
Taking this award as a new starting point, the College of Culture and Tourism will further integrate tourism and cultural majors, empower the training of cultural and tourism talents with digital technology, cultivate high-skilled new-type cultural and tourism professionals, and boost high-quality development of the cultural and tourism industry.
