The School of Hospitality Management organized students to attend a social practice event at the 2026 China International Consumer Electronics Expo held at Qingdao International Convention and Exhibition Center on September 4.

Under the theme “AI Leads, Wisdom Lights Up the Future”, the expo showcased cutting‑edge achievements of AI‑industry integration, with a focus on digital applications such as intelligent services, smart cultural‑tourism solutions and smart devices. Different from conventional classroom teaching, this practice adopted an immersive and interactive learning approach. By viewing exhibits, engaging in on‑site exchanges and hands‑on experiences, students gained direct insight into how AI technologies are put into practical use. Combining the features of hotel management, transportation and health‑care majors, they studied smart‑service systems and digital cultural‑tourism platforms, and actively explored pathways to integrate AI into professional studies, practical training and job performance.

Students benefited greatly from this on‑site practice. They noted that the activity helped them go beyond textbook knowledge and witness how digital and intelligent technologies are reshaping modern service industries. They also realized that vocational students in the new era should consolidate professional competence, proactively acquire AI knowledge, utilize digital tools to make up for deficiencies in digital skills, and keep pace with demands of new‑form industries.

This event marks a key initiative of the school to deepen industry‑education integration and pursue digital‑oriented education. Drawing on high‑quality digital educational resources, the School of Hospitality Management will embed AI thinking into daily teaching, optimize practical training modes, and cultivate compound technical and skilled talents qualified for emerging job requirements.
