The college held the opening ceremony of the 2026 New Teachers Meeting and Pre-job Training Program on August 28.
Diao Hongbin, Secretary of the College Party Committee, extended a warm welcome to the newly recruited teachers on behalf of the college. He introduced the college’s over 80-year educational heritage, achievements and development vision, and elaborated on its original aspiration and mission of Fostering Talents for the Party and the Country, as well as its school-running tradition of Pragmatism and Application and school-running characteristics of industry-education integration.
Sharing insights with new teachers under the theme of Tracing Origins to Know Roots, Integrating into the College, and Embarking on a New Journey, he put forward four expectations for their growth.
First, uphold firm ideals and convictions and strive to be benevolent teachers with sincere love for education.
Second, devote themselves to diligent study and research to become rigorous teachers with solid professional competence.
Third, uphold a pragmatic and responsible spirit and grow into competent teachers with a strong sense of mission.
Fourth, cherish collective honor and cultivate teamwork spirit for mutual progress.
After the opening ceremony, Diao Hongbin delivered a special lecture focusing on the industrial transformation in the AI era. He analyzed the new challenges and opportunities brought by artificial intelligence to industrial development, job forms and talent cultivation in vocational education.
He urged new teachers to break inherent disciplinary thinking, strive to improve eight core capabilities including ideological and political guidance, higher-order thinking, digital and intelligent integration, and technological innovation, take root in industrial frontlines, and promote the coordinated development of teaching and education, technological innovation and social services.
Han Xiqing, President of the college, put forward requirements in his presiding speech. He hoped that all new teachers could quickly adapt to their new roles and campus environment, gain substantial progress through pre-job training, devote themselves to teaching and education with full enthusiasm, and contribute wisdom and strength to the high-quality development of the college.
In recent years, the college has continuously strengthened the introduction and cultivation of high-level talents and optimized the structure of the teaching staff, recruiting 21 doctoral teachers in the first batch of 2026. Centering on carrying forward the educator spirit, this pre-job training program adopts diversified forms including thematic reports, policy interpretation and exchange seminars tailored to teachers’ majors and job responsibilities, helping new teachers quickly adapt to their posts and grow professionally.
