The final of the 9th Counselor Quality Competence Contest was successfully held in the conference room of the Administration Building on August 26. Aligned with the competition standards of the Shandong Provincial University Counselor Quality Competence Competition, this event comprised preliminary and final stages, attracting active participation and thorough preparation from all counselors.
The preliminary round consisted of basic knowledge tests and theoretical preaching sessions, designed to evaluate counselors’ professional knowledge accumulation and theoretical interpretation capabilities. Based on their comprehensive scores, the top 10 contestants qualified for the final competition. Focusing on practical student management scenarios, the final adopted case discussion and one-on-one counseling dialogue sessions covering core student work areas, including ideological guidance, academic atmosphere development, mental health education and emergency crisis disposal. It aimed to comprehensively assess counselors’ capabilities in judging, analyzing and resolving complex practical problems in daily student work.

All participants delivered outstanding performances by drawing on their rich work experience, fully demonstrating their solid professional expertise and excellent professional demeanor as university counselors.

After intense competition, Liu Jie from the School of Business Administration claimed the first prize. Sun Xiaoyu from the School of Hospitality Management, Xie Mengxuan from the School of Culture and Tourism, and Pang Chuan from the School of Hotel Engineering were awarded the second prize. The third prize went to Yu Chao from the School of Hospitality Management, Zheng Lisan from the School of Culture and Tourism, Wu Qiong from the School of Culinary Arts, Su Xiao from the School of Hotel Engineering, Feng Haonan from the School of Culture and Tourism, and Zhou Yang from the School of Business Administration.

The Contest invited outstanding ideological and political instructors from Qingdao University of Science and Technology, Qingdao University of Technology and Qingdao University to serve as external judges, while professional supervisors from the college’s Faculty Affairs Department and Industry-Education Integration Service Center acted as internal judges. Directors of student affairs offices from all secondary colleges, full-time counselors, as well as relevant staff members from the Student Affairs Office and the Youth League Committee attended the event.
