On August 17, the college held the opening ceremony of the 9th Cross-Strait Shandong Food Culture Training Course themed Inheriting Shandong Flavor, Sharing the Future.
Zhao Lei, Deputy Director of Qingdao Taiwan Affairs Office, and Han Xiqing, President of the college, attended the ceremony.
Lasting for one week, the training has enrolled more than 60 students from Taiwan province, China. In collaboration with Qingdao Taiwan Affairs Office, the college optimized the training plan based on previous experience and built a three-in-one curriculum system featuring cultural study, skill practice and urban study tours.
The training enables students to systematically learn traditional Chinese food culture, practice classic Shandong dishes and intangible cultural heritage cuisines taught by professional teachers, and experience the unique charm of Qingdao through in-depth urban study tours.
Giving full play to its advantages in catering majors, the college has built a distinctive brand for cross-strait food culture training.
The college will further deepen cross-strait educational and cultural exchanges, strengthen cultural identity and emotional bonds across the straits, and contribute vocational education strength to cross-strait integrated development.
