From August 11 to 12, the Seminar on Deepening the Reform of Key Teaching Elements and High-quality Development of Service-oriented Higher Vocational Colleges was held in Yantai, Shandong Province.
Hosted by Lushang Group and co-organized by the college, the event gathered relevant leaders from the Chinese Society of Higher Education, officials from the Shandong Provincial Department of Education, industry experts, and more than 350 key faculty members from higher vocational colleges nationwide.
Diao Hongbin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, attended the seminar and presided over the special discussions on deepening the reform of key teaching elements and the clustered training of high-skilled talents.
During the seminar, Diao Hongbin conducted in-depth exchanges with participating experts and reached important consensus. He pointed out that deepening the reform of key teaching elements and promoting the clustered training of high-skilled talents are crucial measures for implementing the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, advancing the construction of a powerful country in education, and ensuring industrial talent supply. As vital carriers for supporting the upgrading of modern service industries, serving the real economy and boosting employment and entrepreneurship, service-oriented higher vocational colleges must uphold the original aspiration of cultivating talents for the Party and the country, and integrate the Party’s leadership into the whole process of school governance and education.
He stressed that rooted in its school-running characteristics focused on the service industry, the college will systematically advance the reform of key teaching elements. It will continuously optimize professional layout, strengthen the development of courses and teaching materials, build a high-quality teaching team, and upgrade practical training platforms. The college will solidly implement the clustered training of high-skilled talents, cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents tailored to the needs of the service industry chain, and serve the overall economic and social high-quality development through high-quality vocational education development.
Centering on three core themes—the reform of key teaching elements, the clustered cultivation of high-skilled talents, and the connotation improvement of service-oriented higher vocational colleges—the seminar conducted in-depth discussions. It summarized cutting-edge reform ideas and practical models, providing solid theoretical support and practical reference for higher vocational colleges across the country to promote the integrated reform of majors, courses, teaching materials, teachers and practical training, and facilitate the quality and capacity expansion of modern service industries through high-skilled talent cultivation.
