On June 28, the college grandly held the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2026, sending off all graduates to embark on new journeys in life. Adopting an online-and-offline integrated model with a main venue and branch venues, as well as live video and picture broadcasting, the ceremony was attended by college leaders, faculty representatives, administrative staff, and all graduating students.
Diao Hongbin, Secretary of the college Party Committee, delivered a commencement speech titled Stay True to Youth Aspirations, Strive Forward, and Take Steady Steps in Life. He extended sincere congratulations to all graduates on their successful completion of studies, recalling their growth and efforts over the past three years. He pointed out that the Class of 2026 has grown up in an era of rapid national development and technological innovation. During their campus life, the students have studied diligently, strived for excellence, and fully demonstrated the sense of responsibility of contemporary youth.
At this pivotal turning point before graduation, Diao Hongbin put forward three expectations for all graduates. First, uphold lofty ideals and patriotism, and preserve the spiritual traits of Hismile people: patriotism, self-improvement, courage to pioneer, and pursuit of truth and innovation. Second, stay grounded and committed to lifelong learning and continuous struggle, maintain a positive attitude and sound physical and mental state to advance steadily in life. Third, stay sincere and kind-hearted, uphold moral principles and academic integrity, embrace life passionately, and warm and inspire more people along the way.
President Han Xiqing presented graduation certificates to student representatives at the main venue. He shook hands with each graduate and encouraged them to stay true to their original aspirations, ride the waves of the times, and write brilliant chapters in life.
The Class of 2026 has achieved fruitful results: 73 students have joined the Communist Party of China, 51 have enlisted in the military, 441 have been awarded Outstanding Graduate honors, and 991 will pursue further studies at higher institutions.
Branch venues were set up in each school, where school leaders presented graduation certificates to all graduates. Bearing the school motto of Diligence, Sincerity, Smartness and Elegance and the school spirit of Love, Strength and Responsibility, all graduates are stepping confidently into new stages of life.
Ma Yuanyuan, teacher representative from the School of Hotel Engineering, encouraged graduates to cultivate morality, improve professional skills, uphold pragmatism and gratitude, broaden their vision through innovation, and pursue dreams with perseverance. Zhang Lu, graduate representative majoring in Culinary Arts and Nutrition, expressed sincere gratitude to the college, teachers and classmates. She called on all Hismile graduates to forge ahead steadily and create greater achievements in the future.
During the graduation season, all departments and schools optimized service procedures to ensure a orderly, efficient and warm graduation experience. A series of gratitude education activities and book donation campaigns were organized to foster students’ sense of gratitude and pass on warmth and scholarly spirit on campus. The logistics team carefully decorated the campus to create a strong graduation atmosphere. The college canteen continued its warm tradition by providing free graduation dumplings for graduates, offering a heartfelt farewell and bringing a memorable ending to their campus life.
