The BIM Application Event (Staff Group) of the 2026 Qingdao Vocational Skills Competition was successfully concluded at the college on June 25.
Hosted by Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security and undertaken by the college, the competition attracted 57 participants, including in-service teachers from 6 vocational colleges in Qingdao and professional technicians from 19 leading construction enterprises, fully demonstrating the solid practical capabilities and comprehensive professional quality of practitioners in the field of construction digitalization in Qingdao.
Strictly aligned with the national vocational skill assessment standards for senior-level BIM technicians, the event keeps pace with the digital and intelligent transformation of the construction industry. Adhering to the concepts of improving capabilities, promoting construction, and integrating industry and education through competitions, the event focuses on the full-life-cycle application of BIM technology in construction projects.
The event covers the whole process including project preparation, model establishment and editing, drawing annotation and result output, comprehensively evaluating participants’ professional practical skills and boosting industrial skill upgrading and high-quality talent cultivation in the BIM field.
Attaching great importance to the event, the college set up a special support team led by the School of Hotel Engineering and arranged all work in strict accordance with municipal competition standards. The venue was fully equipped with professional graphic workstations and modeling software. Standardized management measures such as closed competition arrangement, random workstation selection, independent judging and full-process supervision were implemented. Meanwhile, complete plans for safety protection, emergency response and eco-friendly operation were formulated to ensure a fair, orderly and safe competition.
The successful hosting of the event comprehensively inspects the BIM teaching achievements of local vocational colleges and the professional skills of industrial practitioners, building a high-quality platform for school-enterprise collaborative education. The School of Hotel Engineering will further deepen school-enterprise cooperation, integrate competition standards and cutting-edge industrial demands into teaching reform, optimize the talent training system, and promote in-depth integration of vocational education and the digital construction industry, so as to continuously deliver high-quality skilled talents for the digital and high-quality development of Qingdao’s construction industry.
