The Pre-departure Mobilization and Training Session for Hong Kong Internship

The Pre‑departure Mobilization and Training Session for the 2026‑2027 Hong Kong Internship Program of the School of Hospitality Management was held in the multi‑function hall of the Hismile Digital Hotel on June 11. Han Xiqing, attended the event and delivered a mobilization speech as well as pre‑departure guidance to the 67 students about to intern in Hong Kong.

President Han Xiqing encouraged all students heading for Hong Kong to foster deep patriotism, uphold political bottom lines, engage in in‑depth professional practice, and strictly follow safety rules. He urged them to grow into interdisciplinary talents with patriotism, an international vision and solid professional capabilities, and stated that the university would provide full‑process support for the students.

At the event, Zhou Li, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office), and Pang Yang, Director of the Industry‑Education Integration Service Center, awarded appointment certificates to seven internship team leaders.

Xue Jiaqi, a student of the class of 2025 intake, spoke as a student representative. Supervising internship tutors delivered special training on safety management and career development.

The college has launched the Hong Kong Internship Program for Hotel Management majors since 2016, establishing long‑term university‑enterprise cooperation with several well‑known hotels in Hong Kong. Previous interns have won high recognition from enterprises for their professional competence, with many securing formal jobs in Hong Kong, demonstrating the college’s achievements in integrating internship and employment into talent cultivation. Supported by the Shandong‑Hong Kong Collaborative Talent Cultivation Platform, this round of Hong Kong internship hones students’ capabilities against international industry standards.

As a key practice of the college in advancing university‑enterprise collaborative education and fostering virtue through education, it will continuously supply high‑quality technical and skilled talents for the cultural tourism and hospitality industry.
