The college held a pre-departure training session for teachers going to teach in Thailand on May 28.
Party Secretary Diao Hongbin stated that overseas teaching is an important move to support the Belt and Road Initiative and expand the college’s professional influence. Previously, our teachers have established long-term exchanges with Phawanabodhi College of Vocational Education in Thailand and won wide recognition.
Diao Hongbin put forward three requirements for the one-year overseas work: strictly abide by disciplines, laws and regulations; further develop the Shandong Cuisine Classroom and Banmo College, innovate teaching modes and promote the overseas application of vocational education resources; and ensure full support from all departments to spread Chinese stories and traditional skills.
President Han Xiqing noted that this overseas assignment marks a key shift of the college’s international education from one-way introduction to two-way exchanges. He hoped the teacher would strive for better performance to boost the construction of high-level vocational colleges and majors, and urged all departments to coordinate closely and provide solid support.
Relevant departments and the Culinary School gave lectures on integrity education, policies, foreign affairs procedures, curriculum design and practical operation standards.
Wang Jianming pledged to embrace cultural differences, integrate the essence and standards of Shandong cuisine into teaching, expand cooperation channels, and contribute to inheriting traditional Chinese culture and the college’s international development.
The training lays a solid foundation for the overseas promotion of Shandong cuisine and vocational education standards, and serves as a vivid practice for the high-quality development of the college’s international education.
