Diao Hongbin leads a delegation to Macao to expand employment cooperation and visit alumni

From May 21 to 22, Diao Hongbin, Secretary of the college Party Committee, led a delegation to carry out a series of exchange activities in Macao after concluding the Hong Kong visit. The delegation connected with local industry institutions and leading enterprises, deepened university-enterprise cooperation, and visited alumni and teachers in Macao, achieving fruitful results. This event served as the closing activity of the colleges series of exchange programs for the 2026 Shandong Week in Hong Kong and Macao.

On the afternoon of May 21, the delegation visited the Chinese-funded (Macao) Vocational Introduction Association and officially signed a memorandum of cooperation. This is the exclusive special cooperation agreement that the association has reached with a college in recent years. Leveraging the respective strengths of both parties, the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in the full-process service of labor export to Macao, the training and reserve of high-skilled talents, and the improvement of the collaborative mechanism for employment rights and interests protection.

Diao Hongbin stated that the colleges advantageous specialty clusters are highly compatible with the industrial development of Macao. At present, more than 200 alumni of the college are employed in high-quality positions in Macao, and some have purchased properties and started businesses locally, providing strong talent support for Macaos industrial upgrading. Ye Hong, Director-General of the Association, spoke highly of the colleges talent cultivation quality and the good industry reputation of its alumni. He noted that the association will rely on Macaos geographical and platform advantages to continuously deepen practical cooperation with the college in the field of human resources.

During the visit, the college held a tea party for alumni in Macao. Diao Hongbin commended the alumni for taking root in Macao and dedicating themselves to their industries. He encouraged them to pursue lifelong learning, broaden their international vision, improve comprehensive literacy, take on responsibilities at their posts, and integrate themselves into Macaos development and national overall development. Meanwhile, he provided guidance on the standardized construction and regular contact mechanism of the Macao Alumni Association. The participating alumni expressed gratitude for the colleges cultivation, and vowed to uphold their professional original aspiration, polish their professional capabilities, repay their alma mater with outstanding achievements, and empower industrial development.

On May 22, the delegation visited MGM Cotai in Macao and held an in-depth college -enterprise symposium with Li Jianheng, Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Sustainability of MGM Cotai, and other senior management personnel. The team inspected the hotels operation modes, business systems and featured cultures. The two sides reached consensus on key issues including joint talent training, targeted education and expanded employment posts. Highly recognizing the professional quality and competence of the colleges graduates, the hotel side promised to expand campus recruitment scale and plans to pay a return visit to Qingdao to further upgrade and deepen university-enterprise cooperation.

A forum for teachers and students in Macao was held concurrently. Student representatives shared their latest work and life status, career plans and gains from working in Macao one by one. Diao Hongbin delivered warm encouragement to all students, urging them to adhere to their career aspirations, take root in their posts steadily, and realize personal growth and life value through diligent work. In addition, the delegation had in-depth exchanges with teachers pursuing further studies in Macao and put forward targeted guidance and suggestions.

Relevant officials of the Liaison Office of the Central Peoples Government in Macao met with the delegation. They fully affirmed the achievements of the colleges Macao visit and spoke highly of its positive efforts in promoting talent exchanges, industry-education integration and regional collaborative development between Shandong and Macao.

The Macao visit yielded abundant and substantial results. It delivered a number of practical university-enterprise cooperation consensus and built a regular cooperation platform for universities, enterprises and local institutions.

Meanwhile, the college gained a clear understanding of the latest talent demands of Macaos cultural tourism and hotel industry as well as the cutting-edge practices of international brands in service standards and cross-cultural management, and fully grasped the career development status of over 200 alumni in Macao.
