The opening ceremony and first lesson for freshmen enrolled in the 2026 higher academic continuing education program was held in the Academic Lecture Hall on May 12. All new students attended the event via on-site venue and online live stream.
Diao Hongbin, Secretary of the college Party Committee, extended congratulations and a warm welcome to all freshmen. He delivered the first lesson entitled Integrate New Knowledge, Innovate for the Future, Strive as Lifelong Endeavors on the Path to Chinese-style Modernization.
Against the backdrop of era development, he stressed that students shoulder important missions on the new journey of building a powerful country. Based on the college’s development achievements, he affirmed the promising prospects of students in professional career development.
He encouraged students to uphold three spirits: embrace changes with an inclusive mind and be lifelong learners; hone professional skills with a dedicated attitude and be pragmatic practitioners integrating knowledge and practice; embrace intelligent technology with an enterprising spirit and be pioneers innovating for the future.
He hoped all students achieve capability upgrading, broaden horizons and restart their life journey, stay aspirational, master solid skills and keep kindness in heart, so as to make steady progress and shine brightly in the days ahead.
During the ceremony, a school badge wearing ceremony for freshman representatives was held. Zhang Chengye, Dean of the School of Continuing Education, clarified academic assessment regulations concerning curriculum study, attendance management, grade evaluation and graduation requirements.
Zhou Chenguang, Admissions Office Director of Qingdao Huaxia Management College as the off-campus teaching site representative, stated that they would uphold the school motto of Diligence, Sincerity, Smartness and Elegance, optimize service awareness and management capacity to ensure students complete their studies smoothly.
Ren Chuansheng, faculty representative from the School of Culinary Arts, expected students to learn efficiently, take on responsibilities, stay grateful and forge ahead bravely.
Shao Han, freshman representative majoring in Business English, promised to strictly abide by school rules and disciplines, devote themselves to study with full enthusiasm and live up to teachers’ expectations.
The ceremony concluded with the singing of the college anthem Hismile Cradle of Smiles.
