On May 10, the inaugural meeting of the Qilu Culture Research Center was held in the conference room of the Administration Building. More than 40 experts including Professor Guang Shaokui, doctoral supervisor from Qufu Normal University, attended the event.
Diao Hongbin, Secretary of the college Party committee, pointed out that advancing the construction of a tourism powerhouse relies on shaping tourism with culture and highlighting culture through tourism. Boasting profound historical heritage, Qilu culture embodies the accumulation of Chinese excellent traditional culture spanning thousands of years. Relying on the Qilu Culture Research Center, the college will conduct in-depth research on Qilu culture, promote the creative transformation and innovative development of fine traditional Chinese culture, and integrate Qilu culture into the whole process of the industry-education integration philosophy of “enterprises raising questions, university-enterprise joint responses, and market evaluation”, so as to elevate the construction level of the high-quality tourism specialty group through cultural innovation and development.
At the ceremony, Diao Hongbin and Professor Guang Shaokui jointly unveiled the Qilu Culture Research Center.
The college appointed Professor Guang Shaokui as the chief expert of the center. Diao Hongbin presented researcher appointment certificates to 36 internal and external researchers, including Wang Nan from Qingdao University and Zhao Tong from Qufu Normal University.
Leveraging the advantages of its cultural and tourism specialty group, the center will carry out work including Qilu culture curriculum development, textbook compilation, study tour design and cultural and creative product research and development, to boost the creative transformation and innovative development of Qilu culture in the field of vocational education.
As a key task of the high-quality tourism specialty group construction of the national double-high vocational college, the construction of the Qilu Culture Research Center aims to integrate Qilu culture research with specialty group construction by building platforms, gathering resources, refining research and delivering achievements. It empowers the research and development of high-quality cultural and tourism products and facilitates the cultivation of compound cultural and tourism talents.
Rooted in Qingdao, serving Shandong and radiating across the country, the Center will strive to build a distinctive platform for the integrated development of Qilu culture research and vocational education, contributing to the inheritance of fine traditional Chinese culture and the cultivation of high-quality professional talents.
