On April 9, Professor Zhou Jing, Vice Dean of the School of History and Culture at Linyi University, led a delegation to the college for a series of talent cultivation activities under the junior-college to undergraduate articulation program with the School of Culture and Tourism.

During the teacher-student symposium for the Linyi University articulation class majoring in Study Tour Management and Services, Jiang Lingling, Vice President of our college, noted that this symposium was a vivid practice for the two institutions to implement the strategic plan of the Outline for Building a Powerful Country Through Education (2024–2035) and respond to Shandong Province’s call for deepening the reform of the modern vocational education system.

The 3+2 junior-undergraduate articulation model is an important measure to promote integration between vocational and general education and build a modern vocational education system. Since the start of cooperation, the two universities have made positive progress in revising talent training programs, curriculum articulation, faculty sharing, and joint construction of practical platforms. It is hoped that both sides will further deepen cooperation and jointly improve the quality of talent cultivation.

Vice Dean Zhou Jing introduced the basic development of the Tourism Management major at Linyi University and expressed high appreciation for teachers and students of the Study Tour Management and Services articulation class in our School of Culture and Tourism.

She stated that the two universities enjoy high professional compatibility and a solid cooperation foundation. In the future, they will further promote in-depth connection in curricula, faculty, practical training and other fields to support student growth and success.

Chen Lei, program director of Tourism Management at the School of History and Culture, Linyi University, answered students’ questions concerning academic development, postgraduate entrance examination planning and practical resources. He encouraged students to consolidate their professional foundation, clarify academic and career goals, and fully utilize the high-quality resources of both universities to enhance their comprehensive abilities.

The two sides exchanged views on Party-building guidance, enrollment and employment, specialty construction and optimization of talent training programs.

Professor Chen Lei delivered a special lecture. Taking the cultural tourism industry transformation under the rural revitalization strategy as the starting point, he systematically elaborated on four core aspects: the origin and development of rural tourism, its main models in China, existing problems and paths for high-quality development. The lecture not only sorted out the development context of the industry but also deeply analyzed practical challenges and solutions, building a bridge between theory and practice for teachers and students.

This exchange further consolidated the consensus for cooperation between the two universities and clarified the priorities for junior-undergraduate articulation training in the next stage.

Taking this event as an opportunity, both sides will continue to deepen joint curriculum development, collaborative faculty training and resource sharing, striving to set a model for inter-university collaborative education.

They will cultivate more high-quality study-tour professionals with solid expertise, strong practical ability and professional dedication for the high-quality development of Shandong’s cultural tourism industry, and make solid contributions to the construction of the modern vocational education system.
