On April 9, Mr. Zhang Jingfu, Vice President of the China Hotel Association, visited the college for exchanges and held in-depth consultations on the establishment of the Vocational Education Branch of the China Hotel Association.
Diao Hongbin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, attended the symposium. He expressed sincere gratitude to the China Hotel Association for its long-standing strong support to the college, and highly commended the Association’s active efforts in promoting the development of the hotel industry and hospitality vocational education.
Diao Hongbin gave a comprehensive introduction to the college’s more than 80 years of development history, school-running models, talent cultivation and other aspects. He also put forward ideas on the operation mechanism, working model and key tasks of the Vocational Education Branch of the China Hotel Association.
He stated that the college would pool its superior resources to support the China Hotel Association in advancing the establishment of the Vocational Education Branch. By relying on industry-education integration, the college would help foster and develop industry talents, and earnestly fulfill the mission of vocational education in serving the industry.
Zhang Jingfu noted that Qingdao Vocational and Technical College of Hotel Management is a pacesetter in national hospitality vocational education, playing an exemplary and leading role in industry-education integration, vocational skills competitions, specialty development and faculty training.
The Association hopes to jointly establish the Vocational Education Branch with the college to explore solutions and pathways to current problems in hospitality vocational education talent cultivation, such as disconnection from the industry, mismatch with occupational positions, and insufficient integration of industry and enterprise standards into specialty development and curriculum construction.
The two sides aim to build a benchmark platform for deep connection and integration between the hotel industry and vocational education.
Both sides agreed that establishing a national vocational education branch for the hotel industry is a key measure to implement the spirit of the National Service Industry Conference and national policies on industry-education integration, and address the disconnect between talent supply and demand in the industry.
They confirmed the four core functions of the branch: building bridges, formulating standards, organizing activities and promoting exchanges. This will form a virtuous cycle of “industry putting forward demands,colleges cultivating talents, and outcomes boosting the industry”, laying a solid foundation for the smooth establishment and long-term development of the branch.
In February 2026, the Ministry of Education issued the Opinions on Deepening the Reform of Key Elements in Vocational Education Teaching, which clearly promotes the collaborative advancement of teaching reform by leading enterprises, high-level schools and industry organizations through the “Three-Group Leader System”. It systematically promotes the integrated reform of five key teaching elements: specialties, curricula, textbooks, teachers and practical training, effectively achieving high-level school-running capacity and high-quality industry-education integration.
The preparation for this Vocational Education Branch is a concrete practice for our college to proactively align with national vocational education reform arrangements and deeply integrate industrial needs into the whole process of talent cultivation. It is also an effective action to implement the requirement of the National Service Industry Conference to “cultivate more ‘China Service’ brands”.
Taking the branch construction as an opportunity, both sides will continue to focus on key areas such as the transformation of industry standards into teaching standards, textbook development synchronized with cutting-edge industrial developments, and the construction of industry-education integrated practical training bases, so as to provide solid talent support for the high-quality development of the hotel industry in the new era.
