On March 20, the award ceremony of the Speak for the Most Beautiful Qingdao Tour Guide Service Skills Competition was grandly held in the Academic Lecture Hall.
The event was co-guided by the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the Working Committee of Municipal Direct Organs of the CPC Qingdao Municipal Committee, and other institutions, and fully hosted by our college.
Jiang Lingling, Vice President and Chairperson of the Trade Union, attended the event. In her address, she noted that this competition has built a communication platform for tour guides in Qingdao, inspiring their passion for loving and building the city. Meanwhile, it has explored a new path for talent cultivation featuring promoting teaching, learning and development through competitions.
At the award ceremony, representatives of outstanding contestants delivered Qingdao tourism promotion presentations in turn, demonstrating the professional competence of tour guides in the new era with vivid language. Previous award-winning contestants gave wonderful Qingdao cultural and tourism promotions focusing on four themes: ticket economy, romance economy, wellness economy, and study tour economy, allowing the audience to immerse themselves in the unique charm of Qingdao where mountains, sea, city and bays integrate harmoniously.
During the award presentation, leaders and guests presented awards to 45 winning contestants, and our university was honored with the Outstanding Contribution Award.
The appointment ceremony for Qingdao's Cultural and Tourism Promotion Ambassadors and Cultural and Tourism Observers was also held at the event. Representatives of the appointees jointly read out the Tour Guide Industry Initiative, further consolidating industrial consensus, leading the tour guide team to stay true to their original aspiration, provide honest services and pursue professional excellence, so as to jointly tell Qingdao's stories and promote the city's image.
The holding of this award ceremony is an important embodiment of our commitment to serving the development of the local cultural and tourism industry and deepening university-local cooperation.
Taking this opportunity, the college will continue to deepen industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation, constantly optimize the talent cultivation model for tourism-related majors, integrate industrial standards, post requirements and competition content into the whole process of education and teaching, and strive to contribute vocational education strength to Qingdao's development into an international coastal tourist resort destination.
